biography Ray Sharp is a single father and veteran pianist/composer in the DFW metroplex music scene. Ray began playing the piano at 12. By the age of 13, he had composed dozens of contemporary and classical piano solos. In high school he wrote and directed two wind symphony performances and began entertaining in restaurants throughout Dallas and Ft. Worth. While in college, Sharp supported himself by performing solo piano in church (Mesquite Cumberland Presbyterian - where he currently is the pianist), restaurants, hotels, and art museums. In 2000 Ray was discovered by critically acclaimed theatre company, Four Day Weekend, while playing at a local restaurant and was asked to be a guest musician where, after 6 months, he became their musical director. Four Day Weekend is the longest running show in the Southwest. On Fridays and Saturdays the group performs an hour and a half show created from audience suggestions and participation at their 212 seat theatre in downtown Fort Worth. Voted Best Comedy, Four Day Weekend is a Fort Worth institution. They're been called "Fort Worth's Greatest Ambassadors", have been awarded the Key to the City and have performed for two U.S. presidents and went on a 3 week tour of Europe to perform for the American troops stationed abroad. Sharp has been commissioned to write the music for two comedy revues, national TV commercials, television theme songs, short films and video games. Sharp has released two children's books, five full-length albums of which are solo piano (Exaudio, Letters for a Lifetime, My Muse) an EDM album (Smile Driver) and an alternative rock album with his lovely and talented sister Deanna Green (More Than Myself). Currently Sharp is a stay-at-home father and writes and records his music from his home in North Texas.

children's book author After all, Dogs are Color Blind, Aren't They?
A heart warming 'boy and his dog' tale about first loving all persons you come in contact with regardless of race, color or creed. Story by: Ray Sharp Illustrations by: Jessica Soliz It is my hope that after sharing my story with your child it sparks a conversation about all the wonderful types of people. When I was a boy my greatest fear was my dog running away and that manifested itself in a reoccurring dream. That dream was the impetus for "After All, Dogs Are Color Blind, Aren't They? It dawned on me after reflecting on my dream that man's best friend makes immediate friends with everyone they meet and that is a wonderful life lesson I hope to share with my kids as well as your's. Thanks for reading!

Reviews "Sharp delivers a powerful statement in a way that children can understand. Not only is this book great for children to read to learn that all people are humans who are deserving of love and kindness, but it is also a book that adults will enjoy reading to their children and be able to receive the message from as well. It's amazing what we can see in each other when we take away color and focus on what matters, and that's the fact that we are all human beings living in this world together with talents, dreams, hopes and worth." "This is an excellent book for teaching young children not to judge others based on race or skin color and to help facilitate a discussion regarding the same. My daughter was captivated by the sweet, somewhat mischievous dog we chased throughout the pages and enjoyed the rhyming as well." "A beautiful story about diversity and how we should accept people for who they are. Just as a dog gives unconditional love, so should we to everyone we meet. This book is such a wonderful way to share with children in a meaningful and authentic way, how to be mindful and accepting of others. Both the Kindle and Audio versions are great! I highly recommend this book for everyone, parents, teachers, and caregivers of any sort!"
